It is expected that Oxidation-reduction potential (ORP) of soil is temporarily reduced where "beer yeast agricultural materials" is applied.
It is known that as ORP is reduced in soil, beneficial bacteria is activated and composting organic matter is accelerated by them so it leads to soil environment improvement.
Also "beer yeast agricultural materials" makes iron, nitrogen, phosphate and manganese in soil solubilized and help plants to take those nutrients, and more reduced ferrous and manganese may control some of fungal.
Redox potential (Eh)
The strength of oxidation-reduction in soil is expressed with a unit called redox potential. The higher the Eh, the more the soil is oxidized, the lower, the more it is reduced.
Normally, the Eh of farmland is +0.6 to +0.7V (+600 to +700mV), but in the soil of flooded paddies, oxygen is consumed by organic matter, so reduction increases and Eh drops in some cases to around -0.2 to -0.3V(-200 to -300mV).
