Environment Social Governance Activities

The Asahi Group promotes food education activities as a part of ESG activities.
We carry out on-site classes for the purpose of developing "children's knowledge of food, resources, and the environment" and "their ability to think".
At our class, our staff lectures the work of bacteria and sustainable society to the students by using compost promoter "THERVELICS" with a theme of earth-friendly food waste recycling at elementary and junior high schools nationwide.
At the Asahi Soft Drinks Okayama Plant and the Asahi Group R&D Center (Moriya City, Ibaraki Prefecture),where cafeteria installed composting machine and they uses the Asahi Group's unique microbial compost promotor, "THERVELICS", which contains the Bacillus subtilis C-3102.
By composting the food waste and leftovers from the employee cafeteria, we have achieved zero food disposal and contributed to the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions which may have been generated by the transportation and incineration of food waste. The compost is distributed to farmers and used for growing vegetables.

Employees working at the head office participate in cleanup activities around the head office (Ebisu, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo).
Cleanup activities are also independently held in Tatebayashi, Gunma Prefecture, where we have a production plant. We also actively participate in cleanup activities held by Shibuya City (on Shibuya Day and after Halloween).
